How to make the most of Canberra’s Comedy Festival
Canberra’s Comedy Festival returns this March, bringing with it the perfect excuse for a date night or family outing. First Edition Restaurant is perfectly located, with the Alinga Street stop directly outside our doors so you can step off the platform and straight into our restaurant. Catch the tram down from the northside and take advantage of the easy, 8-minute walk from our restaurant to the Canberra Theatre.
Here’s all the ways you can make the most of the Canberra Comedy Festival with First Edition and Novotel:
1. Revisit a classic date night idea
When was the last time you had dinner and a show? Make it a special occasion and book in for a Summer Art Feast, a set menu inspired by the Matisse and Picasso exhibition, before walking down to the Canberra Theatre to catch one of the evening performances. Book a table here.

Who’s to say this is just for the adults? The 8 minute walk is easy enough even if you;ev got the little ones in tow. 3. Check out our Pop-Up Gin Bar!
We’re bringing gin and giggles to Civic Square on the 21st March with our pop-up Gin Bar! It’s the perfect place to meet up with the girls and enjoy a First Impression – our headlining gin cocktail made with our signature gin produced in collaboration with local distillers, the Canberra Distiller – before heading inside to watch the headlining act of the festival.
4. Stay the night with Novotel
